Call For Participation in the Trusted Computing Group Storage Work Group

The TCG Storage WG is starting work to define a new TCG Opal feature set specification, the MEK Multiparty Authorization feature set specification, to enable multiple parties that are external to a Storage Device to jointly control, authorize, and manage access to that Storage Device’s media encryption keys.

The MEK Multiparty Authorization feature set will help enhance the TCG Opal compliant self-encryption device technology (TCG Opal SED) to better support data protection architectures where data protection responsibilities may be split among multiple systems and entities to decrease the chance that a single system compromise can result in loss of data privacy control.

Part of the effort in the TCG Storage WG will focus on the development of new methods and a host-facing interface to securely present and manage authorization credentials to the Storage Device. TCG Storage WG is looking for additional participation from Cloud Service Providers, OEMs, ISV software vendors, key management system providers, etc. to come join the discussions and help contribute to the development of this standards-based interface specification for multi-vendor / multi-architectures interoperability!

Come join us at TCG Storage WG to continue the discussion!
