Interest in Trusted Embedded Systems and IoT Continues to Grow; TCG Speaks at ISQED

Date Published: March, 01, 2014

This week, TCG and Cisco’s Stacy Cannady will once again tackle the growing issue of non-secure embedded systems at the ISQED conference in Santa Clara, Calif.,http://isqed.org/English/Archives/2014/Keynote_Speeches.html#sc.

ISQED, or International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design, this year is working under the theme of Security in a Connected World. As we’ve noted previously and as reported frequently now in the technical and business media, the rapid growth of the Internet of Things along with aging critical infrastructure is creating a potential “perfect storm” for security.  This year’s event will include speakers from IBM, Stanford University and others along with TCG to talk about how such systems are vulnerable and what can be done to protect them.

Cannady’s talk, Building Trustworthy Systems, defines trustworthy systems, addresses supply chain security and closes with a discussion of available technologies to support trusted systems. The root of trust, of course, plays a key role in ensuring trusted systems and the talk will include discussion of that concept along with the threat environment and development processes integral to secure systems. The TCG Embedded Systems Work Group is working within TCG on a variety of applications of trusted computing to embedded systems. Watch for updates!
